Place sweet pea seeds on a damp paper towel, fold towel to cover seeds, then place into an airtight plastic bag until the swell or sprout.
Plant 1-inch (2.5 cm) deep on compost-rich potting soil and water well. Sweet peas grow best in a sunny location.
Violas (Violaceae)
Sprinkle viola seeds on top of potting soil, then cover with 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) of compost or potting soil. Viola seeds must be kept in the dark and kept moist to germinate. These small purple flowers can tolerate light frost and area great addition to a spring flower bed.
